The 9 centers in Human Design
Defined and open centers: stable energy, sensitivity, and conditioning.
The bodygraph has nine centers (sometimes compared to chakras, without being identical). Each governs a domain of experience.
The nine centers
- Head - mental pressure, questions.
- Ajna - conceptualization, certainty.
- Throat - expression, manifestation.
- G - identity, direction, love.
- Heart - willpower, self-worth.
- Sacral - work energy and response.
- Solar plexus - emotions, the wave.
- Spleen - intuition, fear, moment-to-moment health.
- Root - pressure, stress, adrenaline.
Defined or open
- Defined (colored): consistent energy - you are wired there.
- Open (white): sensitivity to the environment - often where conditioning plays, and also deep wisdom.
In practice
- Note defined centers for type and authority.
- Watch open centers for conditioning (pressure, urgency, people-pleasing…).
