Gate 50 (The Cauldron) sits in the Spleen. It compresses splenic awareness streams into responsibility toward community: guardian or challenger of values. Fear of responsibility can push toward breaking the law as much as defending it.
With Gate 27 (Caring), the gift of nourishing is added; without it, Gate 50 holds responsibility without necessarily caring. Together they form the Channel of Preservation (27-50).
