The 64 gates in Human Design

The sixty-four gates map to the sixty-four I Ching hexagrams around the bodygraph. Each gate is an energy theme: a precise way of thinking, feeling, or acting when activated.

A gate activates when a planet (Sun, Moon, and so on) sits in that slice of the mandala at birth, in personality (black) or design (red). A single gate does not open a channel: it colors a center and can stay a dormant theme until a relationship or transit completes the channel.

In a reading, start with Sun and Earth gates (incarnation cross), then key activations in defined centers. Gates in open centers often show where you take in and amplify other people's energy.
