The 9 centers in Human Design

Defined and open centers: consistent energy, sensitivity, and conditioning.

The bodygraph has nine centers (sometimes compared to chakras, though they are not the same): Head, Ajna, Throat, G, Heart/Ego, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Spleen, and Root. Each governs a domain: mental pressure, identity, expression, will, work, emotion, intuition, stress.

A defined (colored) center emits consistent energy: you are wired there. An open (white) center lacks that fixed pulse: you sense, amplify, and learn from the environment. That is not a flaw; it is often where conditioning lands, and also where deep wisdom can grow.

In practice, first see which centers are defined to understand type and authority, then study open centers for where you take on others' pressure, urgency, or need to please.

Your free bodygraph on Body Graph Studio colors defined centers automatically. The PDF report details each defined and open center as a daily reading tool.
